Please read the following information carefully before your enrollment:

Designed for those who want to build a career in aviation, this series of workshop highlights the difference between general English and aviation English. Each workshop is built around a particular aviation topic and explores one of the 6 language skills areas specified in the ICAO Rating Scale: pronunciation, structure, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and interactions. At the end of this course, you should be able to communicate more spontaneously, accurately, intelligibly, meaningfully and appropriately in English.

Course Commencement:  3 Jun 2020

Application Deadline: 31 May 2020

Dates: 3/6, 5/6, 10/6, 12/6, 17/6, 19/6 (Wed, Fri)

Time: 1900 - 2130 (6 meetings)

Class Venue: HKYAA Centre (3/F, 280 Portland Street Commercial Building, Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong)

Class size: 12 (Maximum)

Admission Requirement:

This is a course for learners of Aviation English who are at intermediate level or above.

Alternatively, participants should conduct a self-evaluation before enrollment.

  • Applicants shall have gained:
    • Level 4 in English Language in the HKDSE Examination; OR
    • Level 4 in English Language in the HKCEE in or after 2007; OR
    • Grade B in English Language (Syllabus B)
    • Applicants with other equivalent qualifications will be considered on individual merit.
  • Students are also expected to have a reasonable familiarity with general aviation topics.

  • You must fill out a health declaration form and have their body temperature checked when entering our centre
  • Wear a mask when entering our centre
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
HKYAA reserves the right to refuse entry to the centre to anybody with a raised temperature or symptoms of infectious diseases/ anybody who fails to comply with these health and safety rules.
